ExactET Lands 'Big 4' Shopping Malls
The Calgary Stampede each year celebrates the “Big Four” local businessmen who bankrolled Guy Weadick when he launched the largest outdoor show on earth world 100 years ago.
Now, we are delighted to announce Calgary’s ‘Big 4’ shopping malls have all decided to adopt Climate Controlled Irrigation.
SouthCentre, Chinook and Sunridge have received our weather service for several years, and in the past week Market Mall also became a client.
“We could not be happier with the new addition to our portfolio,” said Graham Duffy, ExactET’s CEO and co-founder.
“Obviously all our retailers expect to save water and thus money when they move to climate controlled irrigation,” said Duffy. “But more and more we learn the driving factor is the desire to be environmentally friendly.”
Duffy pointed out that besides the ‘Big 4’, several other retail malls in Calgary have scrapped the outdated timer method for irrigation in favour of the new science, including:
- Westhills
- Deerfoot Meadows
- Brentwood Village
- Northgate Village
- McKenzie Towne
- Evergreen Village
- Deerfoot Outlet Mall
- Coventry Hills
- Bridlewood
- Shawnessy
Even individual stores in Calgary, such as IKEA, Co-op and Superstore, have moved to Climate Controlled Irrigation.
“It makes perfect sense for those stores and malls that have large expanses of grass,” said Duffy.
“The return on investment is usually two years or less, and the landscapes always look so much better.”
