ExactET Saves Clients Over 300 Million Litres of Water in 2012
Despite an abnormally hot, dry summer, ExactET still provided significant savings for its clients in 2012.
Combined, our 500 plus customers saved a total of 302 million litres of potable water, which equates to a near $600,000 reduction in utility bills.
Over-all, the move to climate controlled irrigation from the old-fashioned timer method, enabled our supporters to cut outdoor water use by 30 per cent.
The average savings at multi-family residential complexes was 1.6 million litres, and 700,000 litres at commercial properties.
Since our launch in 2006, ExactET has saved clients close to 1.4BILLION litres of potable water.
Based on City of Calgary guidelines, that is equivalent to the savings from roughly 30,000 low flush toilets.
Another saving which is frequently forgotten, but which is just as important, is the reduction in the amounts of carbon dioxide, spewed into the atmosphere.
As energy is needed to process and pump potable water, ExactET helped the City of Calgary reduce its carbon footprint by over 80,000 kgs. of CO2 in 2012.
